Father’s Day cometh once again (June 21st for those of you still in your Knicks induced hangover) and that means two things: dogs on the grill, and you struggling last minute to find a gift for someone who is notoriously difficult to shop for. My own father is a walking cliché when it comes to this (Dad, if you’re reading this, can you just tell me what you want?), and now that I’m a father myself, and an admittedly difficult one to shop for, I feel compelled to share some of my favorite things I’ve received. I’m proud to say I don’t even know what the hell a whiskey stone is and I damn sure don’t want one. Here are a few gift ideas I like for the slightly more discerning dad in your life.
Monogrammed Garment Bag
My wife got me a pair of these and it was the most thoughtful and practical gift that I love and use all the time. If your dad travels even somewhat regularly, this is a slam dunk. Mine are from Mark & Graham but I also found these on Etsy that look pretty sick.
Coffee Bean Subscription
Joshua Tree! Trust me, this coffee is special. Good coffee is important and these guys will deliver the killer beans directly to your dad’s door and they make it super easy to gift a subscription for 3 months or however long you want.
Short Sleeve Sweater Polo
Land’s End is a legacy American brand that began as a mail-order yachting supply company in 1963. I just bought this shirt for myself (apologies to my wife smh) and I love it. The knit polo sweater is a timeless classic that never goes out of style. I got the ginger brown color but the white and blue options are both great and might be a little more safe.
Cartier Travel Watch Case
Another banger courtesy of my wife that I actually use every time I travel. Even if his watch isn’t Cartier, he still needs something nice to store it safely. There’s a lot of fake versions for sale out there, but this one seems legit. You be the judge. Search eBay or Etsy for “Cartier Watch Travel Case”.
